24 Weeks

24 weeks means Logan is Viable!! <3 Just feels good reaching that milestone, of coarse i don't want to see his precious lil face til it's all fat with baby chub and fully cooked. Had my 24 weeks appt today.

Appt. Info: 24 weeks

126lbs (before pregnancy 103lbs) = 23lbs increase
23" fundal height which is nearly spot on
155bpm -Logan's HB (also good)
119/70 -Mommy's BP (a-ok)

I had questions for my doc (Dr. Holland-whom is wonderful BTW) she was great about answering everything. I have ulnar neuropathy.. had it for a good while it's nerve damage in my arms/hands and since i've been pregnant it's becoming almost crippling in my hands. Nothing can really be done while pregnant, other then getting new more supportive braces. So did that, the new braces are neon GREEN- totally hot.

I asked what Logan measured at my NT scan-which took place was i was EXACTLY 12 weeks pregnant. Logan measured 12+2. (so 2 days ahead). At my 22 weeks scan he measured 6 days ahead. At my very early scans he measured SPOT ON to the day. Just info i wanted to know for the baby books and personal info.

Discussed my weight gain, she wasn't to concerned but i am gaining faster then i should and she wants me to gain no more then 40 lbs. At this rate thats not gunna happen i will gain more, but i'll do my best. Anything for the health of Logan and myself.

Then talked about my moving at 33 weeks pregnant and Doc said right now all is well and i should be able to move with my family instead of leaving out before them so i can be by a hospital at the late end of my pregnancy. I will be able to have my records in hand when i leave and will be making a appt RIGHT before i leave to check my pregnancy status to ensure i am healthy enough for travel across the country at 33 + weeks.

Right after i went to my appt, i had to do my glucose screen. Drank the lovely orange drink had a seat, about 15 mins i started not to feel well but i very much played it up to be the nasty taste in leaves in your mouth. Once the hour was up i got my bloods taken and the lady did great i really didn't even feel it. (i've had some evil lab people lol). I then got an call soon after saying i had failed my glucose screen with a # of 145 and will need to go in for a 3 hr glucose screen.

Below are my e-mailed instructions for the 3hr screen i will need to do.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Instructions:
Your 1 hour glucose testing was abnormal and we need you to complete the
3 hour glucose tolerance test at the lab.  The following are the
instructions for the test.  Please follow these directions closely to
ensure the testing is accurate.

1.    This test requires you to fast for 10-12 hour prior to testing.
This means that you are to have nothing by mouth except water and any
medications that you are taking.  You may not have coffee, coke, gum or
tea.  You must refrain from smoking.
2.    Arrive at the lab by 0800 on the day you choose to do your test.
They may turn you away if it is after this time.
3.    A fasting blood sample will be drawn when you arrive.  You will
be asked to wait in the reception area while your blood is tested.
4.    After the results are completed you will be given a beverage
containing 100 grams of glucose, called glucola.  You must drink the
entire amount given to you in 5 minutes.
5.    Blood samples will be drawn from you again at 1 hour, 2 hours
and 3 hours after your finished drinking the glucola.  The lab tech will
give you these time intervals and it is your responsibility to keep up
with these times and remind the receptionist when it is time for another
specimen.
6.    During the procedure you cannot smoke, eat or drink anything but
water.  If you become dizzy or ill at any time during the test, notify
the lab personnel immediately.
7.    You will be at the lab for several hours.  Please bring
something to keep you occupied.  It is recommended that you arrange
childcare if possible for the time you are doing the testing.

I gotta say i am a little upset over this. I didn't have this problem with Emma so it's all new and i really don't know to much about it. My doc informed me that the lab will not be open with the government shut down so they better get thier asses in gear and figure it out because i would really like to get this done with and find my results. If i do end up having gestational diabetes i would really like to see the nuterionist ASAP to know how to better myself and diet for my health and Logan's. I can do research yes but personalized info is also nicer ya know. One thing that does have me worried is that neuropathies are a huge symptom of diabetes, so maybe i should have taken the worsening of my hand and arms more seriously then i did but i really didn't know mixed with Logan measuring ahead like he is and my super fast weight gain. I guess sometime it does actually happen to you and i feel bad for maybe not seeing this before now that this may have been the cause and i was doing nothing to better it. O'well all i can do is be better from here on out. I got lots of reading to do and hopefully i will pass my 3hr. If not, any sacrifice needed to made will be done. Anything for Logan and mommy's health.

O' and went to Micheal's (craft store) and they don't freaking sell sewing machine lubrication. LAME. Means i need to go ALL the way across town to Joann's. Well thats not happening today.. not on a friday traffic is to crazy.Hopefully tomorrow because i really want my sewing machine back up and running.

Patrick was supposed to find out where we are going this week but he's having problems with his AKO and will not be able to resolve them until monday so i  guess we wait (what else is new).

My personal situation/thoughts on the government shut down-- of coarse it's upsetting. We will be able to manage for about a month without pay but anything past that and we will be SOL. If it came down to it i don't mind being late on like cable/internet/cell bills those are no worry to me. Housing are military ran what are they gunna do kick us out.. yeah i don't think so. So not worried about that. I am however anxious about my car, as this is my FIRST car loan. I have never had a car in MY name before so i do not want my payments to even be ONE day late i will drain my savings before i will allow my car payment to be late. Thats the LAST thing i need on my credit report is a late car payment.  So they better figure it out within a month otherwise bills might be late. I hope we get backpay too.. i'd like to not touch my savings as i have a nursery to put together and a move across the country to do. We have a bridge the goes over the freeway from an off ramp that goes onto Ft. Lewis that they hang hundreds of yellow ribbons off us. Today i passed it and there was TONS of people all over it even little kids with signs all supporting and asking that we payed. I hope they can come to an agreement.
